Your Midterm Exam is a 5 page essay on the varying depictions of women in Renaissance prints. Using the readings in your course reader as sources (you may also go ahead to look at things not yet assigned; you may also use other sources as you see fit, though it is not necessary to do so), briefly and concisely explain the issues of representation as they pertain to several types: Eve, Venus, the Virgin Mary, Powerful Women (Phyllis, Delilah, Judith), Exemplars (ie. Lucretia), Women and Death figures, and Witches. You are expected to glean material from several of the articles, not simply Diane Russell's overview.
